EPS VARIANCES

The Department of Environmental Protection and Sustainability (EPS) publishes a list of the environmental administrative variance requests along with their status. The requests are listed by County Council District.

PLANNING BOARD MEETING AND CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS

The Baltimore County Planning Board will meet virtually on Thursday, February 19, at 4 p.m. through Webex. Following the Board Meeting, staff will provide recommendations on the Capital Improvement Program.

RECREATION AND PARKS BOARD MEETING

The Baltimore County Board of Recreation and Parks will meet virtually on Tuesday, February 17, at 6 p.m. through Webex.

LAND PRESERVATION, PARKS AND RECREATION PLAN VIRTUAL PUBLIC INPUT MEETING

The Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks (BCRP) will host a Land Preservation, Parks and Recreation Plan (LPPRP) Virtual Public Input Meeting, on Wednesday, February 25 at 6 p.m., via WebEx. The LPPRP serves as the advisory document for BCRP. Updated every five years, the LPPRP outlines current trends, community priorities and strategies to preserve natural resources while expanding access to high-quality recreational opportunities for all residents. Public input helps guide priorities for park acquisition and improvements, and land conservation initiatives that serve your community. All residents are encouraged to participate.

COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT GRANTS SUBMISSION DEADLINE

The deadline to apply for the second round of Community Improvement Grants to assist neighborhood and community-based organizations to implement projects in their communities, neighborhoods, and business districts is Friday, May 1. Projects will be able to receive grants between $3,000 and $200,000 for capital projects that will have a lasting benefit to their community.

MAPLE SUGARING

The Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks (BCRP) will host Maple Sugaring in collaboration with the nature councils, on February 15, 21 and 22, at 10 a.m.,  at the following locations:

• Cromwell Valley Park, 2002 Cromwell Bridge Road, Parkville, Maryland 21234
• Marshy Point Nature Center, 7130 Marshy Point Road, Middle River, Maryland 21220
• Lake Roland, 1000 Lakeside Drive, Baltimore, Maryland 21210
• Oregon Ridge Nature Center, 13555 Beaver Dam Road, Cockeysville, Maryland  21030
• Benjamin Banneker Historical Park and Museum, 300 Oella Avenue, Catonsville, Maryland 21228

Participants will tap trees alongside BCRP Naturalists and learn about the history and process of maple sugaring. Cost is $6 per person.

BLACK HISTORY MONTH TRIVIA NIGHT

The Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks will host Black History Month Trivia Night on Friday, February 20, at 6 p.m., at the Benjamin Banneker Historical Park and Museum, 300 Oella Avenue, Catonsville, Maryland 21228. Explore the recently reopened museum and interact with historical opportunities before and after. Teams and individuals are encouraged to sign up.

PATAPSCO SEWERSHED METER BASIN 7 REHABILITATION

Baltimore County is rehabilitating more than 73,000 feet of sanitary sewer line in Catonsville. The cleaning and lining project will cost $4,989,140. Work started in 2023 and is scheduled to be completed in the fall. The project is 99 percent complete.

DEVELOPMENT MEETINGS AND ZONING HEARINGS

Development Meetings include Community Input, Concept Plan, County Review, Development Review Committee and Hearing Officers Hearings.

Zoning Hearings include Special Exceptions, Variances and other issues before the Office of Administrative Hearings of Baltimore County.

These meetings are virtual through Webex.
